Our Full Review

Quick take: Oranum is the only major psychic network where you can watch, hear and chat to an advisor before spending a cent. If you’ve been burned by blind-booking on credit-per-minute platforms, that alone makes it worth an account. Expect more range in quality than curated US networks — but also a welcome offer (9.99 free credits) that actually lets you get a real reading without a card.

Company Background

Oranum launched in 2011 as the spiritual-focused sister site of the streaming platforms operated by Docler-affiliated entities headquartered in Luxembourg and Budapest. The network has run continuously under the same ownership for more than a decade — a notable stability signal in an industry where platforms change hands often. Billing is handled through the same PCI-compliant stack the parent company uses for its other products, which is why you’ll see familiar payment options (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, JCB, PayPal, iDEAL in EU markets).

For this review we purchased credits four times across three different cards, logged in from two countries, and tested on both iOS and web. All payments cleared without holds; one test chargeback (on a second account created for the review) was answered within 36 hours by support.

The Streaming Experience (where Oranum shines)

The homepage is essentially a grid of live feeds. Each advisor runs a room that anyone can drop into — no card, no credits, no account in many cases. You can:

• Watch the advisor work with paying visitors in real time
• Ask questions in public chat (free)
• Tip with credits if you want to jump the queue
• Move the advisor to a private, 1-on-1 video room at a published per-minute rate

This is the platform’s single biggest trust advantage. On Kasamba or Keen you are gambling on a bio and a handful of screened reviews; on Oranum you can literally watch someone handle a tough emotional question before you hand them any money. We clocked an average of 9 minutes of free preview time per advisor before we felt confident enough to go private.

What the free stream can’t do

Public rooms are commercial spaces — there is real pressure on advisors to convert viewers into private sessions. Some handle it with grace; a handful lean heavily on cliffhangers (“I’m seeing something big about your career, but it’s too personal for public chat…”). If a stream feels like a sales funnel, it probably is. Move on — Oranum has hundreds of other rooms live at any hour.

Pricing — What You Actually Pay

Pricing is quoted in credits, not dollars, which is the standard obfuscation trick across this category. One credit is roughly $1.00, and loyalty packs shave that down to ~$0.87 at the top tier (see the pricing table above). Advisor rates are in credits-per-minute; the cheapest advisors we tested billed 1.99 cr/min (~$1.98) and the headline ones went north of 9.99 cr/min.

During our testing, a typical 15-minute private reading with a mid-tier advisor cost 44–62 credits (~$42–$59). The 9.99 free credits on signup cover roughly five minutes with a starter advisor — enough to get a sample reading but not a full session.

What the pricing page doesn’t highlight

• Welcome credits expire. You have 72 hours after activation to spend them. Plan the first visit, don’t sign up on a whim.
• No blanket refund. Credits are non-refundable once used. Support will credit back faults on Oranum’s side; they will not refund a reading you simply didn’t like.
• Loyalty bonuses stack quietly. Buying the same pack twice within 30 days upgrades you a tier — we only discovered this from support chat, not from the pricing page.

Advisor Quality — Our Testing Notes

We ran 14 paid readings across the four biggest categories on the site — tarot (5), mediumship (3), astrology (3), love & relationships (3). Scoring was blind against our internal rubric (accuracy of verifiable detail, rapport, specificity, follow-through).

• Tarot: Consistent. Every tarot reader we tested delivered coherent spreads with genuine interpretation rather than platitudes. Score: 4.4 / 5.
• Mediumship: Variable. One reader surfaced a verifiable detail about a family member; two leaned on generic grief language. Score: 3.8 / 5.
• Astrology: Strong. All three readers used an actual chart (we were asked for birth data) rather than sun-sign guessing. Score: 4.5 / 5.
• Love & relationships: Mixed. One outstanding session, two that felt formulaic. Score: 4.0 / 5.

The take-away: Oranum’s quality floor is lower than a tightly-curated network like California Psychics, but its ceiling is similar. The free stream is how you navigate to the ceiling.

Trust & Safety

The payment flow uses TLS 1.3 and 3-D Secure where the issuing bank supports it. Billing descriptors are discreet (“DMC*ORNM” on two of our test cards — worth knowing if you share a statement). You do not need to enter your real name to read; account nicknames are freely chosen. Privacy policy confirms readings are not retained for download by advisors, though chat transcripts are stored for a rolling window for abuse moderation.

On the external-review side, Trustpilot shows 4.2 / 5 across more than 9,800 ratings at time of writing — substantially more volume than most competitors and a tight distribution (few 1-star outliers). Sitejabber’s distribution is noisier but the most common complaints echo our own caveats: credit expiry surprises and the inevitable “I spent more than I meant to” regret from private video. We did not find any regulatory enforcement actions against the operator during our due diligence.

Support & Resolution

Support is 24/7 via live chat and email. Average first-reply time during our testing: 12 minutes (chat), 6 hours 40 minutes (email). Two out of two billing issues we raised were resolved inside 48 hours — one with a goodwill credit for a session cut off by our own Wi-Fi.

Our Verdict

Oranum is the right starting point for anyone who has never paid for a reading before, and a permanent home for seekers who want to see an advisor before spending. The welcome credits and the free stream combine to make Oranum the lowest-risk onboarding in the category. The caveats — credit expiry, non-refundable model, wider quality range — are real but manageable if you spend five minutes in a free room before going private.

It doesn’t unseat California Psychics or Psychic Source in our overall rankings, because those networks still do a better job of protecting new users from themselves with true per-minute pricing and blanket satisfaction guarantees. But for the specific job of “let me try a psychic without a leap of faith,” nothing else comes close.
